Hands-on workshop, DIS

Hands-on workshop with local clay-rich subsoil and plant fibres at DIS - Study Abroad with 13 bachelor students from the US.
During the 3.5-hour workshop, we investigated the properties of four different loam samples and identified and measured the clay content with various methods. We also delved into the effect of water on loam-based mixtures and experimented with local straw, hemp shiv and hemp fibre.

"She inspired many of our students to experiment with clay in their final projects, and also was cited in teacher reviews as being a highlight of the student's study abroad experience."
